Ideal Play Abacus India Private Limited recently organised the sixth Tamil Nadu State-level Abacus and mental arithmetic competition and fourth Tamil Nadu State-level speed arithmetic competition at Ramakrishna Mutt Ashram School, Bazullah Road, T. Nagar. More than 1,000 students participated. Children in different grade levels had to go through three rounds each.

The participants had to do complex arithmetic involving five-six digit numbers and decimals and solve a string of six digit numbers by addition and subtraction. Dr. M. Ponnavaikko, Vice Chancellor, SRM University was the Chief Guest and Bala Ganga, Rajya Sabha MP, and P. Chithirai Selvan, film producer, were the guest of honour. Prizes were distributed to the students winning in various categories.
