Neelankarai Beach to get a face-lift

When was the last time you visited the Neelankarai Beach? How was the scenario then at the Beach?

Nestled amidst a calm environment and chill air, the beach used to be littered with food wastes . Soon, you will sport a garbage-free Neelankarai Beach, when you go there next time with your family and friends. For, the Chennai Corporation has decided to maintain the coastline clean and safe.

Plan inclusion

The development plans include laying of cement roads, provision of a parking slot, jogging track, benches, constructing a play area, laying a garden and installation of street-lights posts. “Once the funds are released for the project, works on the beach will begin soon. Garbage bins would be placed at vantage points to keep the beach clean.

Aim

The project is aimed at sensitising the public to keep the Neelankarai beach clean,” an official said.
