Nine-day music festival: Bombay Sisters C. Saroja and C. Lalitha performing at Bharateeya Sangeetha Kalai Vizha 2012,’ organised by Sadhguru Santhananda Kalakendra in Selaiyur.

The second edition of ‘Bharateeya Sangeetha Kalai Vizha 2012,’ a nine-day music festival, organised by Sadhguru Santhananda Kalakendra, was inaugurated by Cleveland V.V. Sundaram on December 23.

On the occasion, Dr. Kamala Selvaraj applauded the organisers for this event.

The inauguration was followed by a concert by Bombay Sisters C. Saroja and C. Lalitha. Some of the other concerts were by Dr. Baby Sriram, Prema Rangarajan, T.V. Sankaranarayan, Gayathri Venkatesan, and Violin Sisters M. Lalitha and M. Nandini. The event was conducted on the premises of Chennai Om Sri Skandasramam, No: 1, Kambar Street, Mahalakshmi Nagar, Selaiyur, East Tambaram.

The objective of Sadhguru Santhananda Kalaa Kendra is to take Margazhi music festival to places such as Tambaram and near by areas where there are a significant number of audiences who find it difficult to visit the city and be a part of the concert experience.
