Foundation Day at KVS

The Foundation Day of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan was celebrated at Meenambakkam on December 15. On the occasion, cultural programmes were performed by children and awards were distributed to teachers. KVS Chennai Region presented the Regional Incentive Awards to 17 teachers from various Kendriya Vidyalayas in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Other 12 awardees from around the country were also felicitated. Ministry of Science and Technology has introduced Sir C.V. Raman Science and Technology awards for innovative efforts in teaching science at primary and higher secondary level.

51 teachers honoured

This year, 51 teachers from Kendriya Vidyalayas, Chennai Region, were presented with this award. K. Ramamurthy, Dean (Academic Courses) IIT-Madras was the chief guest.

N.R. Murali, Deputy Commissioner, KVS Chennai Region, delivered the welcome address. Uma Sivaraman, Assistant Commissioner, KVS Chennai Region, thanked the gathering and K. Lakshmipathi, Principal, KV, Meenambakkam, also spoke.
