Chitlapakkam Muthulakshmi Nagar Welfare Association, Chitlapakkam, convened its 22nd annual general body meeting recently. The association thanked South Chennai MP and the Minster for Animal Husbandry C. Rajendran; R. Mohan, president, Chitlapakkam Town Panchayat and N.C. Krishnan, chairman, St. Thomas Mount Panchayat Union; for their efforts in introducing share-autos in their area.
A resolution requesting the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) to install one more transformer in Muthulakshmi Nagar, to reduce low-voltage problem, was passed. The annual report was presented by R. Seshadri and C. S. Venkatesh, treasurer, presented the audited accounts. L. Sundararaman, the association president, presided over the programme.
The members observed a one-minute silence for the death of the 23year-old gang-rape victim in New Delhi and urged the authorities to take steps to ensure safety to women. The office bearers for the year 2013-2014: Sundararaman, president; V. Ramajeyam and V.L. Narasimhan, vice-presidents; V.Venkataraman, secretary; N. Danapalan and M.S. Sundaram, joint secretaries; C.S Venkatesh – Treasurer; and R M Easwaran- assistant treasurer.
Secretary R. Seshadri placed the report for the year 2012 before the members and the same was approved .The members appreciated the efforts taken by Chitlapakkam Town Panchayat President R. Mohan, St. Thomas Mount Panchayat Union Chairman, N.C. Krishnan in introducing ‘Share Auto’ to Chitlapakkam. Treasurer C S Venkatesh placed the audited accounts.
The meeting also elected office bearers for the year 2013-2014. L. Sundararaman- President; V. Ramajeyam and V.L. Narasimhan - Vice presidents; V.Venkataraman – secretary; N. Danapalan and M.S. Sundaram - Joint secretaries; C.S Venkatesh – Treasurer; and R M Easwaran- assistant treasurer. The new incumbent, Mr. Venkataraman assured to continue the good work of the association, and treasurer C.S.Venkatesh proposed a vote of thanks.
