Each year, Microsoft selects group of ‘Microsoft Student Partners’ out of thousands of applicants, and the selected students represents their institution every academic year. For 2012-13, Ms. Bhawna Tripathy, Final year IT Dept. Student, of Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute University, Maduravoyal, was selected as the ‘Microsoft Student Partner’. She will be a key student point of contact for Microsoft with the educational institution and will get the opportunity to grow as vibrant student technology community.

Most of the ‘Microsoft Student Partners’ are inducted as permanent employee of Microsoft. They will have the special privilege to learn and update Microsoft new technologies. Through this ‘Microsoft Student Partners’ Microsoft organises lot of programmes for the benefit of student community.

Bhawana Tripathy was congratulated by A.C.S. Arunkumar, president of Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, University. The memento was given to her in the presence of Rector, G. Gopalakrishnan, Head, CSE-IT Department; V. Cyrilraj, N. Kanya, and C. Sharmila, both Assistant Professors, CSE-IT Department and Microsoft Student Coordinators.

Faculty Development Training

A programme on ‘ethical hacking’ was conducted at the University. Hands-on demonstrations of hacking techniques were the hallmark of the event.

Young entrepreneur and founder and CEO of Indian Servers, Sai Satish handled the sessions with expertise. The workshop sessions included email hacking, Windows hacking (hacking in 5 seconds) Windows Cracking (crack any password in 5 seconds), Website hacking, Backtrack, Metasploit and Malware Analysis. The programme listed the common errors frequently made by the users of the cyber world. The faculties were exposed to the latest techniques of hackers as well as the protectors of the internet pathways.

At the end of the programme Faculty Development Training Certificates were issued by A.C.S. Arunkumar, president of the University.
