The body of an unidentified man was found inside a parked car in Kotturpuram late on Sunday. The body of the man, suspected to be in his late thirties, was found in a decomposed state in the car that had not been used for 10 days.

Kotturpuram police said Jagadish, a software professional, parked the car on July 12 outside his home on Ellaiamman Koil Street and had not taken it out since then as he was unwell. On Sunday, his father alerted him to a foul smell emanating from the car.

Police said the body was on the rear seat of the car and that there were blood stains on the seat and the floor. It is still not clear how the victim had gained entry into the car as the doors and glass window panes were intact without any sign of damage.

The body was recovered and sent for post-mortem, while the car has been taken for a detailed investigation by forensic experts. Efforts are on to establish the victim’s identity.
