6 school students injured in accident near Puzhal

Six primary school students were injured after the autorickshaw they were travelling in rammed a median on Kathirvedu-Sembium Salai near Puzhal on Wednesday morning. Their condition is said to be stable.

According to Madhavaram traffic investigations, the accident took place around 8.30 a.m. when the vehicle, driven by Babu, was taking the children to the school in Surapet. Babu lost control of the vehicle near Surapet service road junction and the autorickshaw hit the median. Six children, identified as Naveen, Lokpriya, Rahul, Koushika, Janani and Hemalatha, all from Puzhal, suffered injuries. Babu was also admitted to a hospital for treatment.

Naveen, who suffered head injuries, was shifted to the Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre in Porur for treatment along with Janani and Hemalatha, traffic police said.
