CHENNAI: Amid all the mega serials and reality shows dominating the small screen space, a comedy show that was popular nine years ago has returned to enthral viewers.
The second season of ‘Chinna Papa Peria Papa’, a show based on the relationship between a woman and her daughter-in-law, will have episodes woven around current affairs, punctuated with humour.
Completely fresh with changes made in the main cast, the show promises to entertain its audience once again.
While actors Nalini and Nirosha from season one continue to be part of the show, new actors, including Madhumitha, Chitra, Vetri and Kurinjinathan, have been roped in.
Thrilled to have bagged the title role, actor Nalini says, “It is a welcome break from the negative roles that I’ve been associated with on television. I realised that I had talent for comedy when I acted in this show. Even though it is laced with humour, every episode will end with a message.”
S.N. Sakthivel, the show’s director, says he took time to spruce up the content to attract youngsters and children. “In the first season, we did not have so much competition from other channels. We are planning every episode with a touch of real-life incidents to suit viewers’ taste.”
Produced by Radaan Mediaworks, the show will air on Sun TV on Saturday nights.
