Looks like both Ajith Kumar and Karthi will have festival releases this year and the next. Ajith’s Aarambam directed by Vishnu Vardhan will be released for Deepavali while Veeram directed by ‘Siruthai’ Siva is likely to have a Pongal release. As for Karthi, his All In All Azhaghu Raja by M. Rajesh will be a Deepavali release and Biriyani by Venkat Prabhu, a Pongal release.

Meanwhile, Vijay’s Jilla is gearing up to present its first look on Vinayakar Chathurthi.

Look who’s a model!

Director-choreographer Prabhu Deva joins a list of Indian and global celebrities who have a wax model of themselves at the Celebrity Wax Museum in Lonavla. Unveiling the statue recently, a visibly overwhelmed Prabhu Deva said, “I am touched by the affection of the people. Sunil Kandalloor and his team have done a great job.”

On the film front, the director is said to be getting ready for his next venture Rambo Rajkumar.

Fight it!

Music composer Vijay Antony who made his acting debut with Naan, will play a Taekwondo expert in his next Salim. Directed by N.V. Nirmal Kumar, a major part of the shooting is said to be over. The actor says, “I’m committed to acting as much as I am to composing music. I worked hard for months together on the martial art.” He is paired with Aksha Pardasany in the film, likely to be released this year-end.

Bollywood calling

Amala Paul who has had an impressive outing down South is all set to woo Bolllywood audience. She will play the lead in the Hindi remake of the 2002-hit Ramana . She is paired with Akshay Kumar in the film. Unlike the Tamil version that had two women in the lead, the Hindi remake is said to have just one. While the original was directed by A.R. Murugadoss, the remake will be by Krish. Ramana revolves around a common man’s fight against corruption.
