Actor Jai is on cloud nine! And, why not? He has been signed by some of the big banners in the industry — Aascar, Photon Kathaas, Fox Star Studios, AGS Entertainment and now Cloud Nine. Says a visibly delighted Jai, “I’m happy to be doing big-budget films. Doing a film for Cloud Nine is a jackpot! The film’s directed by Venkat, an associate of Venkat Prabhu, and music is by Anirudh.” Meanwhile, another actor too is getting just as busy. Udhayanidhi Stalin has been signed for Idhu Kathirvelanin Kadhal and Nanbenda . Directed by Jagadish, an associate of director Rajesh M, the film will see Santhanam teaming up with Udhayanidhi again.

Much sought-after

After the success of Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga and Ethir Neechal , we hear that producers are vying with each other to rope in actor Sivakarthikeyan for their films. Apparently, director Lingusamy’s Thirupathi Brothers has signed him for its next venture to be directed by Boopathy Pandian. The shooting is to start in a few months. Here’s a nugget — the actor has lent his voice for a song in the upcoming film Varuthappadaadha Vaalibar Sangam , directed by Ram Jay.

Going places

Following his Hindi film debut, actor Dhanush has been signed for two national-level commercials, including one with his Raanjhanaa -co-star Soonam Kapoor. He has also been signed for another film with the director of Raanjhanaa . In Tamil, he has Naiyyaandi , after Maryan .
