The big news right now is that director Mani Ratnam is almost done with his much-awaited film Kadal. Apparently, the film also features seven songs — ‘Nenjukulle’, ‘Chithirai Nila’, ‘Adiye’, ‘Moongil Thottam’, ‘Ale Keechan’, ‘Anbin Vaasalae’, and ‘Magudi Magudi’. A single from the film was released recently and it has already made quite an impact among film goers. With music by A.R. Rahman, the film has actor Karthik’s son Gautham and actor Radha’s younger daughter Thulasi in the lead.

Endless treats

If the speculation is anything to go by, movie buffs have plenty to look forward to next year, even after Pongal. While Rajinikanth might have a project with Mani Ratnam post Kochadaiyaan, it is learnt that Kamal Haasan could go in for a comedy after Vishwaroopam. After Singam 2, Suriya will apparently star in a production by Thirupathi Brothers, directed by Lingusamy. Ajith who’s working with Vishnuvardhan now is likely to take up a project with director Siva. Vijay who’s currently shooting for director A.L. Vijay’s film, is believed to sign one for AGS Entertainment.

Love, jumbo size

Director Prabhu Solomon is excited about his directorial venture Kumki. “I have worked hard for the last two years to make it. Sure, an elephant is one of the characters, but it is a romantic story, showcasing love in all its grandeur. I think it’s going to be a long-lasting friendship among the hero Bomman, heroine Malli and the elephant Manikandan,” says the director.
