Over 30 short films and documentaries on and by the LGBT community at the ‘Chennai Rainbow Film Festival’

Chennai Dost, a support group for gay, lesbian and bisexual men and women in Chennai, in association with Alliance Francaise of Madras, organises the ‘Chennai Rainbow Film Festival’. To be held at Alliance Francaise of Madras, Nungambakkam from June 7 and 9, the film festival will feature over 30 short films and documentaries by established and upcoming gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender filmmakers. Cinematographer and filmmaker Balu Mahendra will preside over an award ceremony on June 8 where actors, journalists and activists who supported the LGBT community will be recognised.

This will be followed by a panel discussion on the portrayal of LGBT issues in Media. On June 9, there will be an awards ceremony for the best LGBT shorts and documentaries.
