Mellow Circle stages a musical, Stay By My Side, at the Museum Theatre

Mellow Circle rings in the yuletide season with its 13th annual production, a musical titled Stay By My Side. It will be staged on November 23, 24 and 25, 7 p.m. at the Museum Theatre, Egmore. The two-act musical follows the frantic Christmas eve escapades of a contemporary family that finally slows down to discover Christmas. They look for answers in an old folks home — The Glendale Home for Aged — where a group of elderly people wait to celebrate Christmas eve with family and friends.

A special show for school children is scheduled for the morning of November 23. With a cast comprising 18 members and a 50-member choir, the play will be interspersed with solos, duets and choral harmony.

Scripted by Rajiv Rajendra, the production is directed by N.S. Yamuna. Augustine Paul is the music director. Stay By My Side sends out the heart-warming message that relationships and love can rule the day.

Tickets for the show, priced at Rs. 2,000, Rs. 1,000, Rs. 600 and Rs. 300, are available at all outlets of Odyssey and Landmark and at Promusicals and Cane & Bamboo.
