TBGS inaugurates 33rd music festival

Sri Thyaga Brahma Gana Sabha, T. Nagar, will hold its 33rd music festival from December 9, 2012 to January 25, 2013, at the Mahaswami Auditorium. The 44 Jeer of Tirumala Tirupathi will inaugurate the fest and N. Ram, director, The Hindu , will preside over.

From this year, the programmes during the fest also include Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattom and Kathak.

On the inaugural day, the Sabha will confer the ‘Vani Kala Sudhakara’ title. It also offers a cash award of Rs. 1 Lakh, sponsored by Preetha Reddy and P. Vijayakumar Reddy, in memory of P. Obul Reddy and Gnanamba, to the artists mentioned below:

Bombay Jayasri Ramnath (vocal); Prof. T.N. Krishnan (violin); Dr. T.K. Murthy (mridangam); Deepika Reddy (Kuchipudi) and A.R. Srinivasan (ARS) (Theatre).
