“What raga is this?” the old man asked my neighbor after listening to Sriranjani’s thesis of the raga for over twenty minutes. Then my neighbor turned to me, a resigned look on his face.

“Kambhoji,” I said.

“That’s exactly what I thought,” he said, relieved.

I smiled. The number of times I’ve heard that. This is really what I wanted to say to both the gentlemen: “Pray, why don't you should just Kam down and feast on the bhojan outside.”
