Chariot for Sri Raghavendra

The Hanumanthapuram Pallakki Seva Trust, Ramapuram, Chennai, is dedicating a 15ft- high ‘Navarathna Ratham’ to Sri Raghavendra Swamigal at Mantralayam Moola Brindavanam on the occasion of the ninth year of Naadahahaaram to be conducted on the Vardhanthi of Swamigal.

The ‘Ratha’ constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.4 crore is studded with seven lakh precious stones. The upper part of the chariot has figurines of Lord Narasimha, Lord Hayagriva, Lord Rama, Lord Santhanagopalan, Lord Vaikumatavasudhevan, Lord Venkateshwara, Lord Udipi Krishna and Lord Panchamuka Anjaneya.

The lower part of the ‘Ratha’ has ‘Guru Stotram’ composed by Sri Appannacharyar.

Public view

The chariot will be on display for public view on March 10 at Raghavendra Swamy Mutt, Triplicane. On March 16, 11 Madathipathis of various Mutts will perform ‘Navarathna Ratha Seva.’
