Karadi Cultural Alliance Trust in association with Hippocampus Children’s Library has launched Creative Resource Centre for visually-impaired children between four and fourteen years of age.

“This is a noble effort and I am delighted to be a part of this initiative. This is just the stepping stone and I wish all the very best for this new endeavour,” said, I. Arivanandam, Regional Director, National Institute for the Visually Handicapped.

“We hope that this is the beginning of many such libraries, not just across Tamil Nadu but the entire nation,” said Shobha Vishwanath, Founding Trustee, Karadi Cultural Alliance Trust.

Books available

The Creative Resource Centre has various non-academic Braille books, audio books, tactile books and toys. Karadi Cultural Alliance Trust, a not-for-profit organisation was started in 2003. The organization has five founder-trustees — Shobha Viswanath, writer and educational consultant; Anooradha Sriram, musician; Nandita Das, actor; P. R. Rajalakshmi, administrative manager; and C. P. Viswanath, musician.
