Burglars struck at a beauty parlour exclusively for pets on the ground floor of an apartment complex in Anna Nagar West early on Saturday morning and took away nearly Rs. 16,000 in cash, a computer and the complete CCTV network of four cameras.
The pet parlour, Cho Chweet on the 11 Main Road, G Block, primarily grooms pet dogs, cats and even goats and rabbits. The parlour was closed following the day’s business around 6 p.m. on Friday.
“Around 7 a.m. on Saturday, I received a phone call from the owner of the building that the main door of the parlour was open. I rushed to the spot to find the shop ransacked and the entire CCTV network, a computer and the cash missing,” C. Sudhakar (44), the owner of the establishment told The Hindu .
The culprits damaged the entire shop but left the pet products inside untouched.
They could easily enter the parlour as the apartment complex does not have a security guard on duty at night.
