Burglars struck at a beauty parlour exclusively for pets on the ground floor of an apartment complex in Anna Nagar West early on Saturday morning and took away nearly Rs. 16,000 in cash, a computer and the complete CCTV network of four cameras.

The pet parlour, Cho Chweet on the 11 Main Road, G Block, primarily grooms pet dogs, cats and even goats and rabbits. The parlour was closed following the day’s business around 6 p.m. on Friday.

“Around 7 a.m. on Saturday, I received a phone call from the owner of the building that the main door of the parlour was open. I rushed to the spot to find the shop ransacked and the entire CCTV network, a computer and the cash missing,” C. Sudhakar (44), the owner of the establishment told The Hindu.

The culprits damaged the entire shop but left the pet products inside untouched.

They could easily enter the parlour as the apartment complex does not have a security guard on duty at night.
