The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday conducted searches on the premises of Inspector General of Police (Armed Police) Pramod Kumar in connection with a case of alleged corruption, sources in the agency said.
According to the sources, a couple of years ago, some police officials in Tirupur district allegedly demanded and took a huge money from Kamalavalli, director, Paazee Forex Trading India Pvt. Ltd., to safeguard her in a multi-crore scam. Mr. Kumar was then the IGP of West Zone.
A large number of depositors had lodged complaints with the police accusing the Paazee Forex Trading India Pvt. Ltd. of cheating them to the tune of several crores of rupees.
