CB-CID to probe death of Villupuram college students

The transfer of the case to the CB-CID comes amid allegations that the girls were murdered and their bodies dumped in the well.

Director-General of Police Ashok Kumar on Friday issued orders transferring the case relating to the death of three students in Villuppuram district to the Crime Branch CID for investigation.

Three girl students of SVS College of Naturopathy and Yoga Science allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a private agriculture well opposite the college campus at Bangaram near Chinna Salem last week.

The victims were identified as T. Monisha (19) of Chennai, A. Saranya (19) of Kancheepuram and V. Priyanka (19) of Tiruvarur studying second year in the private college.
