The next time you are at the cinemas, you might get to watch a short clip on the ongoing Chennai Metro Rail work. A 25-minute film by National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) was uploaded online by Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) on Friday.

While the film would be screened for different stakeholders in its full length, a short two to three minute excerpt is on its way to different theatres in the city. Through this initiative, CMRL seeks to raise awareness of the project among residents of the city.

The film tries to capture the mega metro rail project that is in progress currently. Actor Anuja, who played the character of a journalist in ‘Unnaipol Oruvan', narrates the story of Chennai Metro.

NFDC has filmed construction work at various sites where underground and elevated stations are coming up. “Everyone in the city is a witness to Chennai Metro Rail work at different locations. We thought it important to give residents an overview of what is in store. Such a film is bound to create some awareness,” an official of CMRL said.
