The Madras High Court quashed a case against Tamil director-producer Gautham Vasudeva Menon, registered by the City Central Crime Branch, for alleged offences of cheating and criminal breach of trust.

The case pertained to a complaint lodged by film producer R. Jayaraman of R.S. Infotainment Pvt. Ltd. The allegation was that Mr. Menon and his associates, who were part of the production company, cheated the complainant of Rs. 1.98 crore.

Justice C.T. Selvam allowed the petitions filed by Mr. Menon, Reshma Ghatala, T.S.T. Ramanujam and S. Venkataramanan seeking to call for the records in the FIR registered in 2004, and quash it.
