In the ongoing bid to encourage good penmanship among school-goers, The Hindu In School Cello Handwriting Wizard Contest 2014 has been opened to over one million students in 1,000 schools in Chennai, Bengaluru, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Madurai, Tiruchi, Coimbatore and Salem.

It will be held at three levels: school, city and Southern, across two categories: Junior and Senior. The top six entries — three from each category — will be awarded hampers and prizes at each level.

Participants will get the opportunity to write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, get featured in The Hindu In School and visit the Kasturi & Sons Ltd. printing press.

The winner will be named the Cello Handwriting Wizard of the Year.
