Women from Rajasthan have broken the shackles of subjugation and emerged achievers in various fields. Yet, more women need to get access to education and health, and they must be encouraged to further their career ambitions, said Rajasthan Governor Prabha Rau here on Sunday.
Speaking at the Rajasthan Divas celebration, Ms. Rau said Rajasthani youth, living across the world, should come together to create a better tomorrow. They should work towards the development of underprivileged and marginalised sections of the society. “Transform the dreams of our leaders into reality. Development works should begin at grass roots-level, primarily reaching out to women and children.”
She gave away Rajasthan Yuva Ratna awards to people who have made a mark in various fields. Dhaval J.Chandan was conferred the award for his outstanding achievement in business, Rajendra Ratnoo, District Collector of Kanyakumari, was given the award for his contribution to the society as a bureaucrat and Mohan Jain for making a difference in lives of underprivileged through his community services. Rajendra Kumar Baghman was conferred the award for his achievement in his profession as a chartered accountant, C. Sonia Rani Jain was honoured for her successful career as a pilot and Nisha Nahar for her medical services. Pramod Jain, Public Works Department Minister, Rajasthan, spoke on the occasion. A cultural event, showcasing the vibrant dance culture of Rajasthan, followed the award function.
The programme was organised by Rajasthani Association, Tamil Nadu, and Rajasthan Foundation, Chennai Chapter. The Association president Hari Shankar Agarwal, secretary Padamchand Chhajer and Chairman of Yuva Ratna Award Committee Kailashmull Dugar spoke.
