No one was injured, but five motorcycles mowed down
Panic prevailed for a short while on Gandhi Nagar 1st Main Road, Adyar, on Sunday afternoon after an MTC ran into the Bata footwear showroom here. No one was injured in the incident.
According to G. V. Narasaiah, manager of the showroom, the incident occurred around 1 p.m. when there were over 20 customers in the showroom.
“It all happened in a flash. The speeding bus mowed down five motorcycles and a bicycle parked outside the showroom and came to a halt after hitting a genset and a car. The glass showcase with some footwear in the front was damaged,” Mr. Narasaiah said. Fortunately, the customers, staff members in the showroom and passengers on the bus escaped unhurt, he added.
