A special court on Wednesday dismissed the bail petitions of three persons, including former Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran’s aide, arrested by the Special Task Force, CBI, in connection with the BSNL telecom exchange case.
Judge J. Krishnamoorthy, principal special court for CBI cases, said that if the three were released on bail at this stage, it would hamper the progress of investigation in the case. Last week, the CBI arrested V. Gowthaman, then additional Personal Secretary to Mr. Maran; S. Kannan, chief technical officer of Sun TV network; and K.S. Ravi, an electrician with the group, in connection with the case.
