A CBI court here on Thursday granted permission to the CBI for interrogating three persons arrested in the BSNL exchange case in the jail for three days.
Judge J. Krishnamoorthy allowed the CBI to conduct interrogation between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. from February 6 to February 8.
V. Gowthaman, the then Additional Personal Secretary to former Communications and Information Minister Dayanidhi Maran; S. Kannan, Chief Technical Officer; and K.S. Ravi, an electrician of the Sun TV network, were arrested in connection with the case on January 21.
The three were later remanded to judicial custody till February 4. It was extended till February 18 on Wednesday. A Special Court rejected the CBI’s petition seeking custody of the arrested persons and the Central agency moved the Madras High Court. The High Court too dismissed the plea.
