Brothers killed in road accident

Two men, brothers, were killed on the spot when a speeding mini-lorry hit the motorcycle they were riding on Velachery Main Road in Medavakkam on Monday.

Traffic police sources said Selvam (28) and Deepan (22) were sons of Vijayan. Residents of Bharathi Nagar in Taramani, they were carpenters. They were working at a house under construction in Medavakkam. They had gone home for lunch and were returning to the work site. Around 3 p.m., a speeding mini lorry tried to overtake the motorcycle they were riding, but hit the two-wheeler.

The brothers were thrown off the motorcycle and fell on the road. They came under the rear wheels of the mini lorry and died on the spot. Police arrested Aneesh Kumar of Kerala, the van driver.
