Brahmakumaris, in association with United Nations Information Centre, has launched a three-month campaign, ‘I Pledge for Peace.’ The programme was inaugurated by the Governor of Tamil Nadu, K. Rosaiah, on September 18 at Chinmaya Heritage Centre, Harrington Road, Chetpet, in the presence of Dadi Ratan Mohinji, Joint Administrative Head, Brahmakumaris.
The Governor, in his address, said, “Everyman longs for and continues to work towards attaining peace and happiness. The endeavour remains unfulfilled and the search continues. Our thoughts determine the nature of energy around us. We become what we think. If we think ill for others we too receive the same and similarly if we intend good for others we will also be happy and positive. This campaign is an attempt to make people experience peace in daily life.”
Dadi Ratan Mohinji, in her benedictory address, said that ‘peace’ is an inner power and it can be experienced or derived through the Supreme Father.
The other guests S. Tamilvanan, Judge, Madras High Court, Prabhatkumar, Scientist, Chairman and Managing Director, BHAVINI, Kalpakkam, and S. Gurumurthy, Chartered Accountant; felicitated Brahmakumaris for their efforts in making this world a better place to live.
Volunteers of Brahmakumaris are collaborating with schools, colleges, hospitals, banks, offices, clubs, and other organisations to take the peace campaign forward.
