Boy injured in freak accident

A 12-year-old boy was injured in a freak accident on Grand Southern Trunk Road near Chengalpattu on Wednesday morning.

According to police, Snegan, who is in class VII at a private school in Chengalpattu, was waiting at a bus stop on GST Road near Pulipakkam village along with some other passengers at around 9 a.m. Suddenly a State Transport Corporation bus proceeding to Chengalpattu from Tambaram veered into the bus stop after the bus driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and hit Snegan.

Snegan was rushed a nearby hospital and was later referred to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in Chennai, police said.
