Bonus and ex-gratia declared

Bonus and ex-gratia, totalling 8.33 per cent and 11.67 per cent, have been sanctioned for employees of the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Milk Producers' Federation (Aavin) and the Civil Supplies Corporation.

In respect of Aavin, the number of employees to be covered is 6,576 and the financial implication, Rs.5.30 crore. In the case of the Civil Supplies Corporation, 32,249 employees will be benefited and the move will entail a financial commitment of Rs.13.64 crore.

Twenty per cent bonus has been approved for 12,951 employees of the Tamil Nadu Tea Plantation Corporation, Forest Plantation Corporation and Arasu Rubber Corporation. This will cost the exchequer about Rs.6.9 crore.

Four thousand four hundred and ninety three employees of the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board will be given 8.33 per cent bonus. The total payment is Rs.1.57 crore.

Also, 9,491 employees working in the Department of Sugar will get 8.33 per cent bonus and 11.67 per cent ex-gratia amounting to Rs.6.26 crore.

Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi has approved payment of bonus and ex gratia, according to an official release.
