A five-member Bharatanatyam troupe from the dance school, Sridevi Nrithyalaya, was invited to perform at the India Campaign for Olympics 2012, at the Royal Festival Hall, South Bank Centre, London on August 1 and 2.
Students of PSBB, K.K. Nagar, Simran Sivakumar, Samyuktha Swaminathan, Sneha Rangarajan, and Bhairavi Venkatesan from Bhavan's Rajaji Vidyashram were accompanied by Shobha Korambil.
Sheela Unnikrishnan, founder of the school, had choreographed special themes such as Nataraja Sthothram (blend of Yogasanas from Pathanjali's Yoga Sutra and Karanas) and Charis from Bharatamuni's Natya Sastra, a dance set to Pathanjali's Sanskrit verses, in praise of Lord Nataraja. The items involved difficult postures and adavus which elicited a lot of high stamina from the dancers. The dancers were hosted in London by The London Organising Committee.
