May 15, 2010 01:52 am | Updated 01:52 am IST - CHENNAI:

Over 70 companies from eight countries are showcasing their manufacturing technology capabilities in the automobile sector at the third Automotive Engineering Show being held at Chennai Trade Centre from Friday.

“This is the first time that the four-day exhibition on technologies for automotive manufacturing is being held in Chennai. The first-two editions were held in Pune. We may try to make it an annual feature. This is the only event that does not have vehicle manufacturer or component makers as it showcases technology, process and systems for vehicle manufacturers,” Sameer Khedkar, Managing Director, Focussed Event Management Pvt. Ltd., told reporters on Friday.

The four-day exhibition will also feature concurrent seminars on Sunday and Monday.

More information about the expo can be sought from the participants between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
