Auto driver found murdered

May 26, 2013 09:25 am | Updated 09:25 am IST - CHENNAI:

A 27-year-old autorickshaw driver was found murdered at his home in Selaiyur on Saturday.

The Selaiyur police said B. Rajesh was living alone in a rented house on Periyar Street, Bharath Nagar. His elder sister Nancy lives next door. He would call on his sister every morning before leaving for work.

As he did not meet his sister for the most part of Saturday, she came to his house around 4 p.m. She noticed the door locked from outside. She called Rajesh on his cell phone and she heard it ringing inside the house.

She then called for help and with the help of a few neighbours, broke open the door and found Rajesh lying in a pool of blood.

Police sources said his head was smashed with a grinding stone. The police do not have any specific clues and special crime teams are probing the murder.

The incident comes on the heels of another murder on last Saturday. A former councillor of Pattali Makkal Katchi who was a hardware store owner was clubbed to death at his house in Zamin Raayapettai in Chitlapakkam police station limits near Tambaram.
