Indumathi, who worked in a private hospital in the city, disappeared on Wednesday evening
Tambaram police are searching for a 22-year-old woman who has been missing since Wednesday evening.
A native of Singaripettai in Villupuram district, Indumathi is a graduate in social work. She married Vijayabhaskar, also a graduate in social work, about a year ago.
Indumathi had been working at a private hospital in Chennai for about four months before she returned home for a break.
She came back to the hospital in Chennai on Wednesday to pick up her books and other belongings. Around 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday, she told her father-in-law over the phone from Tambaram that she was having her lunch and would soon be boarding a bus at Perungalathur to Villupuram. However, she did not return home and attempts to reach her on her mobile phone were futile as it was switched off.
Her anxious relatives arrived at Tambaram and filed a police complaint. A special team from Tambaram has launched an intensive search.
As of Friday evening, there was no trace of Indumathi. Further investigations are on.
