Sundaram Business Services (SBS), the BPO arm of Sundaram Finance Ltd., has landed three domestic deals in the voice-based BPO space from Mumbai-based companies.
The first deal is in the media and entertainment space, where SBS will handle in-bound and out-bound calling for game shows and reality TV participation. The other two deals are in the auto space, where the company will handle the setting up of car service appointments with specific dealerships through telemarketing, and in the real estate space where SBS is setting up a customer service helpline for large residential and township projects.
As part of these three deals, SBS is expected to support and service half a million voice calls over the next year.
“While we will continue to expand separately in the voice and non-voice based businesses, we are confident that the strategy of providing a composite offering combining our voice-based BPO offering with our transaction processing services, will find relevance for companies that look for quality processing but have only moderate scale,” a release quoted Rajesh Venkat, CEO, Sundaram Business Service, as saying.
As part of its current expansion, SBS’s non-voice back-office transaction processing service has crossed over one crore transactions annually. The company’s non-voice BPO offering includes policy processing for insurance companies and accounts payable for diverse sectors such as insurance, manufacturing, pharma and asset management. Additionally, the company also does centralised and branch-based pre- credit, disbursement processing and customer service for select NBFCs.
Over the last year, the company has also expanded its presence in voice-based solutions. SBS currently provides services that include in-bound service calling and tele-marketing for insurance, telecom, media, banking and retail companies. About 30 per cent of its employees in the domestic business are engaged in voice-based BPO services.
SBS has over 1000 employees for its domestic business working out of BPO facilities in Chennai and Mumbai.
