A pall of gloom descended upon the house of businessman Kuldeep Surana after his one-year old boy drowned in a bucket in his house in Vepery on Saturday afternoon.
According to police, the child Yash was playing in the bathroom. “It is suspected that he must have peeped into the bucket which was full of water and would have slipped into it,” said a police personnel at Vepery police station.
His mother, who was busy, searched for the baby as he was not to bee seen for a long time and came looking for him in the bathroom. She found him struggling and gasping for breath in the water and immediately pulled him out. She rushed him to a private hospital on Greams Road,
However, doctors at the hospital declared the baby as brought dead. The body was sent to the Government General Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
