In connection with the World Environment Day, a massive rangoli, spread over 10,000 square feet, was designed by volunteers and staff of Hand-in-Hand (HIH), an NGO engaged in solid waste management projects at Violet Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Chitlapakkam on Sunday last.
The rangoli was created by 570 staff and volunteers of the NGO from 9 a.m. till evening. T. Krishnamoorthy, Project Director, Solid Waste Management of HIH, welcomed the gathering. R. Pandiarajan, actor, was the chief guest. V. Jeyaraman, Executive Officer of Chitlapakkam Town Panchayat, and N. Amuthasekaran, I.S. Shenbagaraman and V. Parisutham, Chief Operating Officer, General Manager and Assistant Project Director respectively, were also present.
