A group of young men have come together to organise a cricket tournament in memory of their friend, a cricket enthusiast, who died earlier this year.

The T20 cricket tournament will be held in memory of S. Mahendra Kumar, a chemical engineer.

It would be held in Quaid-e-Milleth College from June 26. There will be two groups and the tournament will be held on a league and knock-out basis.

Entries are open to all private clubs, coaching academies, corporate and other private teams. Registrations will be on till June 17. Winners and runners-up will get cash prizes and a trophy.

The group described Mahendra Kumar as a very soft spoken person, completely dedicated to his work, family and friends. Ever willing to reach out to others in need, Mahendra Kumar was working in the marketing department of a private company. He died in a road accident in Chitlapakkam in January.
