There was a bomb threat at the training centre of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), at Ambattur in Chennai. More than a thousand TCS employees were evacuated this morning after a phone call to the police warned of a bomb in the building.
The TCS, the India’s major software exporters, is housed in a 16-storey building, of which six are currently occupied.
In a statement issued by TCS spokesperson said that "Another tenant in the building that houses the TCS training facility at Ambattur, Chennai received a call threatening the safety of the facility on Friday morning. As the safety of our employees is paramount, we have evacuated all TCS trainees and faculty from the location in an orderly manner. This incident will not have any impact on our business operations in Chennai as the facility was a training facility," said the company official.
The police and their specialist teams have taken control of the facility and are conducting their investigations into the incident.
