‘Kaatrinile,’ an art and music festival organised by N.K.T.G Muthu, director of N.K.T Muthu Hall and Sri Krishna Sweets, was inaugurated at N.K.T Muthu Hall here on Monday.
Speaking at the inauguration, Naresh Gupta, administrative member of Central Administrative Tribunal, said music had a noble effect and helped put worries off minds for a while. “The vibrations that music creates are not just rejuvenating but also purifying. It is necessary to have this kind of a diversion. We are living in a time when there are conflicts everywhere; carnatic music, in my opinion, has an important role to play in curing this problem,” he said.
Observing that many are engrossed with wrong thoughts, he said only music had the potential to bring about a profound transformation for the good. Violinist T.N. Krishnan, N.K.T.G Muthu and musician R. Vedavalli also spoke at the function that concluded with a concert by T.N. Krishnan.
The festival will be held from December 30 to January 6 at N.K.T Muthu Hall.
