Tamimum Ansari was removed from the party’s primary membership for anti-party activities, says Jawahirullah

A day after an “executive committee” of a rival faction announced his dismissal from the Manithaneya Makkal Katchi (MMK), Member of Legislative Assembly M.H. Jawahirullah, on Sunday, said Tamimum Ansari, leader of the dissenting faction, was a “rank imposter” who was removed from the outfit months ago.

In a statement, Mr. Jawahirullah said he was very much the head of the MMK.

According to him, Mr. Ansari was removed from primary membership after his absence from a general council meeting in October last. He had ceased to be president in January 2015 itself when his three-year tenure ended. “Due to his anti-party activities, Mr. Ansari and his few cohorts were duly served show cause notice twice and later on the party’s disciplinary committee, on proper inquiry, removed him from the party’s primary membership. The removal of Mr. Ansari was endorsed by the party’s central executive council at its meeting held on November 13, 2015 at Madurai,” he said.

Mr. Jawahirullah said the Speaker of the Assembly has recognised him as the Leader of the party and there was no spilt in the MMK legislative party.

“Our party’s registered office with the Election Commission is functioning on Vada Maraicoir Street and this remains our headquarters ,” he added.
