The Photo Editor’s take
Temple festivals and rituals are part of the culture and tradition of our city. This photograph captures the sprit of the festival with 'kolams' on the street and men attired in silk 'panchakachcham' reciting hymns. The woman prostrating to the group wearing the traditional 'madisaar' saree completes the picture.
Despite heavy reflected light from the background the photographer has exposed the scene maintaining a good balance between bright highlight and deep shadows.
Good overall sharpness in colour and contrast.
