Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam on Wednesday declared in the Assembly that his leader Jayalaithaa will become the Chief Minister again.

“We will toil and march in the direction shown by her and the day is not far away to see our leader ‘Puratchi Thalaivi Amma’ again in this august House as our beloved Chief Minister to lead us and the State with greater force and dedication to the pinnacle of fame,” he said, amidst loud thumping of desks by the ruling party members for more than a minute.

Each and every word and the underlying spirit behind the budget were founded on the profound guidance provided by “our Puratchi Thalaivi Amma, who has sacrificed her entire life for the welfare of the people and the development of the State without any expectation,” the Chief Minister said.

The BAC chaired by Speaker P. Dhanapal decided to hold the session till March 31.
