With the counting of votes in 232 constituencies set to begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday, the voting trend in the initial rounds could, by noon, indicate which party would form the next government in the State.

Arrangements are in place in all 68 counting centres across the State, including three in Chennai.

The counting would commence at 8 a.m. and postal votes would be counted along with votes in the Electronic Voting Machines.

Over 13,000 personnel

A total of 3,236 counting tables have been arranged in the counting centres across the State. Due to high number of voters in 219 constituencies, each round will have 14 tables. Over 13,000 persons are to be involved in the counting process.

Except Aravakurichi and Thanjavur, a total of 232 constituencies went for polls on Monday registering a polling percentage of 74.26. Aravakurichi and Thanjavur constituencies would go to polls on May 23 and the results would be declared on May 25.
