AIDS awareness programme

A three-month-long awareness programme for city police constables on HIV/AIDS offered by the Tamil Nadu AIDS Control Society (TANSACS) was unveiled at the police Commissionerate here on Monday. Project Director of TANSACS P. Amudha and Commissioner of Police T. Rajendran were present on the occasion. According to an official press release, the training programme aims to include 55 constables of grades of 1 and 2 from the force per day. A total of 898 officers and 3,238 head constables have been trained through the TANSACS programme, the release said.
