All India Achievers Conference (AIAC) organised its 68 Conference on Individual achievement and nation building in Chennai. Tamil Nadu Governor K. Rosaiah inaugurated the conference and conferred AIAC Excellence Awards to cricketer K. Srikkanth and prominent personalities who had achieved in their respective fields.
While praising the awardees, Mr. Rosaiah said, “The society indeed is crucial to individual existence. It is in this respect that the role of achievers assumes significance. They are the individuals who endeavour to contribute positively to the society. It is necessary that their efforts be lauded and brought forth not only because they may be encouraged to strive higher, but also because others may emulate them. We need brilliant brains coupled with dynamism and leadership qualities with clean and compassionate hearts to compete globally.
“Eminent personalities like those who received the award should take it as their onerous responsibility and motivate the youth in their new ventures.”
The achievers were felicitated with the ‘Gem of India’ and ‘Arch of Excellence’ awards at the function. Cricketer K. Srikkanth, playback singer Vani Jayaram, actor-director T. Rajendar, danseuse Shobana were conferred with Gem of India Award.
Some of the prominent award winners for Arch of Excellence were Bright Vinohar and K. Sridhar, Dr. Kanagaraj, Professor R. Arunkumar, and Dr. R. Udayakumar.
Abhishek Bachan, Executive Director of AIAC said, “The AIAC awards for excellence in various categories instituted in the year 1989 by the All India Achievers Conference is a nationally appreciated recognition that comes rarely and to a few who have worked hard to achieve and excel in their chosen field of activity.”
