Actor Vijay, whose film ‘Thalaivaa’ has been delayed for release in the State, on Wednesday appealed to his fans and the public to avoid watching the movie in pirated formats.

He said the entire team was trying to get the film released as soon as possible, and had sought an appointment with Chief Minister Jayalalithaa to seek government help.

The film produced by Sri Mishri Productions has released in rest of the county and across the world on August 7.

In a video message distributed to media outlets,Vijay noted that over the past few days pirated VCDs of the movie had started making their way into the State but his fan clubs and police had curbed the menace to whatever extent was possible.

He claimed that threats from unidentified groups were the main reason for the delay in the release of the film in the State.
